We bought a 50ft Beneteau Oceanic sight unseen, due to Covid restrictions on travel to Queensland. This is a journal of the challenges and adventures we will encounter.
The Divine Wind was built in 1999 and spent a lot of her life being a charter boat and doing trips from Brisbane to Vanuatu as a missionary vessel.
Both her previous owners were doctors and did frequent health clinics for the islanders.
Knowing her history fills us with confidence. She has lots of sailing experience.
We chose this size and style of yacht as a liveaboard. Hopefully to be a comfortable mobile home. Not quite a tiny house. Not quite a campervan.
Will she be exactly what we dreamed of?
